A number of new NICE Clinical Knowledge Summaries (CKS) will become available during March. These include summaries on:

The CKS are aimed at healthcare professionals working in primary and first contact care in the UK. They are designed to provide primary care practitioners with a readily accessible summary of the current evidence base and practical guidance on best practice in 350 common and/or significant primary care presentations.

Further CKS on cardiovascular topics include:

  • Angina
  • Anticoagulation
  • CVD risk assessment and management
  • Diabetes
  • DVT
  • Hypertension
  • Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
  • Smoking cessation
  • Stroke and TIA

NICE have also commissioned a number of PowerPoint slides based on a range of existing CKS topics, to provide a brief snap-shot of the CKS topic, and to be used as an educational tool. The content of the slides follows that contained within a CKS topic and summarises CKS guidance, but also focuses on areas of particular complexity within each prioritised topic.
